No Desk and No Plan Book

"This isn't a classroom, it's a place to hang out."

Quote from one of my former students upon walking into my classroom and seeing the end tables, plants, old couch, and how everything is organized in the room.

Exactly I thought to myself.

This place isn't supposed to be a "classroom" with all of the history and baggage that word carries with it......

I'm hoping it's something different.

Any chance of you sharing some pictures?

Certainly;

As a matter of fact, the pictures have already been posted on Flickr. The set of them can be found here: http://flickr.com/photos/glassbeednorth/sets/72157601894097445/

Now that my university classes have settled in (I took ECMP 455 with Dean Shareski in the summer), I am looking forward to watching what is happening in your class...your pics are inspiring. Certainly not the traditional classroom. Definitley what us graduating teachers from the U of R have been learning to strive for when we have our own classrooms.
So many other professions evolve with time (going to the dentist even 15 years ago compared to now), so it is time for the teaching profession to evolve past the traditional classroom!
