Classroom Change Wiki

Let it never be said that I don't read my email and my comments. After I posted earlier today about change in classrooms, people have been asking for a place to play.

So I've opened up a new wiki at:

http://classroomchange.pbwiki.com/

On this wiki, I've set up three pages for us to play with ideas about classroom change. The first page is for assumptions about classrooms. The second page is for negative thinking. This is the place where we negatively state the assumptions. The third page is for brainstorming. Any and all ideas are welcome. On this page we begin to think about how we can actually change things. What can we do instead of what we have always done?  How can we think about real change in classrooms?

The wiki is public and the password is "network."

If anyone can figure out a better way to format the third page, that would be great as well.

Have fun.

Clarence, this is a great idea. I've made a small contribution to the wiki, and I look forward to seeing how the project develops. I plan to add more soon. I posted a comment about it on my blog.

Thanks.

Great way to generate some discussion and ideas. I liked the matrix that helped to restate the assumptions in a completely different way. Have you used SmartIdeas at all? It is useful for collaborative brainstorming.
Can I also say, even here in Australia we struggle with the same questions about our teaching and our classrooms.

Clarence,I went to edit the wiki and had to wait in line! It was already being edited by someone else. I've never had that happen in a wiki before. Shows you've gotten us thinking and involved. Thanks for starting it.

I wish we had a way to combine mind mapping with a wiki. We could color code it so the first column of the medici diagram was one color circles, the negative thinking would branch off of that, and the new thinking would branch off of that. I think it would be a powerful way to work with the information. However,I don't know of an online place to do it. We need Zoho to create a mapping module. I think I'll go suggest that right now!

Well, I did go leave a comment at ZohoCreator, and then today I read about Gliffy. It allows people to make free, collaborative diagrams, flow charts, and concept maps. One complication may be that instead of wiki style collaboration, people need to receive an email invite. However, finished Gliffy diagrams can be posted in blogs and wikis. So, I don't know that it helps with this project, but it looks like a powerful learning tool.
