Teachers are always in love with free stuff. Probably a link that most people have already, but if you are like me, (I just discovered this this morning) and this is a new resource for you, it is amazing.
LibriVox is a catalogue of free, out of copyright (read:classic) books, essays, poetry etc. Like Gutenberg (which is amazing enough), except that LibriVox publishes MP3 files. Full ength books, poetry, essays, etc. in audio form; all free!
I've mentioned before that I have 3 iPod shuffles in my classroom that I use to send audio files home with my kids as homework (podcasts about microbiology are making the rounds right now as we are deep into a science unit on cells and body systems) and this opens up a lot more options for me.
